Transistor
Transistor is an action role-playing game presented from an isometric perspective. Players control Red, a singer in the city of Cloudbank, as she wields a greatsword-like weapon called the Transistor against robotic enemies known as the Process. Combat can be played in real-time or paused using a planning mode called Turn(), which allows queuing actions for execution in a burst. Powers called Functions can be equipped in active slots, used as upgrades to augment other Functions, or placed in passive slots for persistent effects. With 16 total Functions available, the system encourages experimentation with different combinations across multiple playthroughs.
Slay the Spire
Slay the Spire is a single-player roguelike deck-building game. Players choose from four characters, each with a unique set of cards, and attempt to climb a procedurally generated spire consisting of multiple floors of increasingly difficult enemies and bosses. Combat uses a card-based system where players build and refine their deck on the fly from rewards earned through encounters. Between battles, players collect relics that provide permanent buffs and make strategic choices about which paths to take, which cards to add or remove, and how to spend limited resources. The game is widely credited with popularizing the roguelike deck-building genre.
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance

Diablo
Diablo is an isometric strategy RPG and one of the most well-known examples of the action-RPG subgenre. Although some of the game mechanics resemble a typical RPG, all actions are done in real-time just like in an action game. The player have to kill hordes of monsters through randomized dungeon levels in order to gain experience points, gold and a variety of equipment to bolster the hero's monster-killing potency.
Braid
Braid is a puzzle-platformer, drawn in a painterly style, where you can manipulate the flow of time in strange and unusual ways. From a house in the city, journey to a series of worlds and solve puzzles to rescue an abducted princess. In each world, you have a different power to affect the way time behaves, and it is time's strangeness that creates the puzzles. The time behaviors include: the ability to rewind, objects that are immune to being rewound, time that is tied to space, parallel realities, time dilation, and perhaps more. Braid treats your time and attention as precious; there is no filler in this game. Every puzzle shows you something new and interesting about the game world.
Sid Meier's Civilization VI
Civilization VI is a 4X turn-based strategy game in which players guide a civilization from its founding as a small settlement through multiple eras of development. Players explore a procedurally generated map, found cities, research technologies, develop culture, engage in diplomacy, and compete against AI or human opponents to achieve victory through military dominance, scientific advancement, cultural influence, religious conversion, or diplomatic consensus. A key design change from its predecessor is the "unstacking" of cities, requiring players to place districts on surrounding tiles rather than stacking all improvements in the city center, making terrain and geography central to strategic planning. The game received two major expansions, Rise and Fall and Gathering Storm, which introduced mechanics like city loyalty, golden/dark ages, climate change, and natural disasters. It was succeeded by Civilization VII in 2025.

Plants vs. Zombies is a tower defense game in which players protect their suburban home from waves of approaching zombies by placing various plants on a grid-based lawn. Each plant has a unique defensive function, from shooting projectiles to blocking or exploding, while different zombie types require specific strategies to defeat. The game spans five stages across daytime, nighttime, backyard pool, fog, and rooftop settings, with additional puzzle, mini-game, and survival modes.
Age of Empires
Age of Empires (AoE) is a history-based real-time strategy video game developed by Ensemble Studios and published by Microsoft. The game uses the Genie, a 2D sprite-based game engine. The game allows the user to act as the leader of an ancient civilization by advancing it through four ages (the Stone, Tool, Bronze, and Iron Ages), gaining access to new and improved units with each advance.
Cities: Skylines
Cities: Skylines is a single-player city-building simulation game. Players manage all aspects of a growing city including zoning residential, commercial, and industrial areas, constructing infrastructure such as roads, public transit, and utilities, and balancing budgets through taxation and services. The game features a transport system, modding support through the Steam Workshop, and a progression system that unlocks new buildings and services as the city's population grows.
Heroes of Might and Magic III: The Restoration of Erathia
Heroes of Might and Magic III: The Restoration of Erathia is a turn-based strategy game and the third installment of the Heroes of Might and Magic series. The game's story is first referenced throughout Might and Magic VI: The Mandate of Heaven and takes place before Might and Magic VII: For Blood and Honor. The player can choose to play through six different campaigns telling the story, or play in a scenario against computer or human opponents.
Hearthstone
Hearthstone is a free-to-play digital collectible card game set in the Warcraft universe. Originally subtitled Heroes of Warcraft, the game features turn-based one-on-one matches where players build 30-card decks and select heroes from eleven classes, each with unique abilities. Players spend mana crystals each turn to summon minions, cast spells, and use weapons with the goal of reducing their opponent's health to zero. The game includes multiple modes such as ranked competitive play, Arena drafting, Battlegrounds (an auto battler for eight players), and rotating Tavern Brawl challenges. New card sets are released as expansions every four months, with a Standard format that rotates older cards out of competitive play.

Dota 2 is a multiplayer online battle arena video game and the stand-alone sequel to the Defense of the Ancients (DotA) mod. With regular updates that ensure a constant evolution of gameplay, features, and heroes, Dota 2 has taken on a life of its own.

Terraria is a 2D sandbox action-adventure game with platforming and role-playing elements. The game features a class system based on equipped gear, NPC recruitment tied to achievements, and supports both single-player and multiplayer modes. Terraria also includes official modding support through the tModLoader framework.
L.A. Noire
L.A. Noire is a neo-noir detective action-adventure video game developed by Team Bondi and published by Rockstar Games. It was initially released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms on 17 May 2011; a Microsoft Windows port was later released on 8 November 2011. L.A. Noire is set in Los Angeles in 1947 and challenges the player, controlling a Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officer, to solve a range of cases across five divisions. Players must investigate crime scenes for clues, follow up leads, and interrogate suspects, and the player's success at these activities will impact how much of each case's story is revealed. The game draws heavily from both the plot and aesthetic elements of film noir—stylistic films made popular in the 1940s and 1950s that share similar visual styles and themes, including crime and moral ambiguity—along with drawing inspiration from real-life crimes for its in-game cases, based upon what was reported by the Los Angeles media in 1947. The game uses a distinctive colour palette, but in homage to film noir it includes the option to play the game in black and white. Various plot elements reference the major themes of detective and mobster stories such as The Naked City, Chinatown, The Untouchables, The Black Dahlia, and L.A. Confidential.
Dragon Age: Inquisition
Dragon Age: Inquisition is a role-playing game and the third main game in the Dragon Age series. It is set in the Thedas continent, the same fantasy world as the two previous games. It consist of two large countries: Ferelden (from Dragon Age: Origins) and Orlais, as well as the land inbetween. True to the spirit of the series the character can be customized for appearance, sex, class and race. The available races are dwarf, elf, human, and Qunari and the classes are mage, rogue, and warrior with three specializations each. To grow the Inquisition experience needs to be earned by completing quests, which allows the player to further define allegiances and pursue romances. A custom party can be defined and each member benefits from experience as it opens up access to better weapons and more abilities. Power points open up new areas and Inquisition points define the influence over the region; each new level provides a perk that benefits the entire Inquisition.
StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty
StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty is a science fiction real-time strategy game and the sequel to the original StarCraft. Set four years after the events of Brood War, the game revolves around three species: the Terrans, the Zerg, and the Protoss. The single-player campaign focuses on the Terrans, following Jim Raynor as he leads an insurgent group against the autocratic Terran Dominion. The campaign is non-linear, with players taking missions for money and using those funds to buy additional units and upgrades between missions aboard the battlecruiser Hyperion. The game features competitive multiplayer with a matchmaking ladder system, a map editor for user-created content, and support for three playable races with distinct units and abilities. Wings of Liberty has been free-to-play since November 2017 and was followed by two expansion packs: Heart of the Swarm, focusing on the Zerg, and Legacy of the Void, focusing on the Protoss.

Sid Meier's Civilization V is a turn-based strategy game in which players lead a civilization from the ancient era through the future. Players found cities, research technologies, build improvements, train military units, and engage in diplomacy with AI or human opponents. Victory can be achieved through domination, science, culture, diplomacy, or by having the highest score when time runs out. Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos is a real-time strategy game set in the high fantasy world of Azeroth. Players control one of four factions, the Human Alliance, Orcish Horde, Night Elves, or Undead Scourge, each with unique units, structures, and hero characters that gain experience and abilities through combat. The single-player campaign follows a sequential narrative across four faction-specific chapters. Multiplayer is supported through Battle.net with ranked matchmaking. Mass Effect 3
Mass Effect 3 is an action role-playing game in which Commander Shepard leads a final campaign against the Reapers, a machine race that has invaded Earth and is conquering civilizations across the galaxy. Players recruit squad members from various species and classes, forge alliances, and make choices that determine which characters survive. Combat features squad-based tactics with combinable biotic and tech powers, blind fire, and enhanced melee attacks.
